It's true that the only way to do payroll is now to subscribe to their payroll service. I feel this is a step backwards in terms of what customers need and an attempt to make more money with the Intuit payroll service.

Maybe you can go back to 2009 QB Pro and just keep using that.

I upgraded from 2009 QB Pro to 2012. In 2009 I was able to do my own payroll work. In 2012 I cannot do any kind of payroll work unless I subscribe to their payroll service. I will NEVER pay them to do payroll I can do myself. This program is a ripoff if you need to do anything but basic banking. I've used QB for many years but I will be finding a different program now. Goodbye Intuit!

Perhaps you should email Jason and ask him what kind of play pen he uses for himself. It's always important to prevent the baby from wandering or getting hurt.

My son is 10 month old and can crawl very well and is now learning how to walk. I am looking for a baby play pen where I can leave him inside where he can play around and I don't need to worry.

At least you got yours to locate the backup program on the Mac. I managed to go through the "install and register" process, the restart and then...a black screen with a DOS prompt and the notice that I had no boot up program and I needed to to insert the startup disc and hit any key. WHAT? I have no startup disc. After trying about 12 times using different ideas, my husband finally located a similar problem and solution on the internet. Somehow, the Flex had installed ITSELF as the startup, so I needed to bypass it when starting up then change the configuration on the mac to ignore it. So now, I am afraid to even plug the Flex into the Mac for fear it will do it again. When it was plugged in though, I was never able to access anything I had backed up on my PC the day before.
As you said, I too bought this product because it said specifically it could be used on both the PC and the MAC and could be used to exchange files between them, but it doesn't look like that is the case at all.

Want to add that this cloud, SaaS application is also sold through Managed Services Providers (MSPs) and Managed Security Services Providers (MSSPs). It's ideally suited for this group.

Also, the HITECH Act of 2009 put teeth behind enforcement of HIPAA, pushing non-compliance penalties from $25,000 to $1.5 million for "violations of an identical provision," to cite the U.S. Dept of Heath & Human Services: http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2009pres/10/20091030a.html
